Bethlehem - There is an enormous church in Bethlehem, Georgia that was endowed by a wealthy farmer's will. On Nov. 6, 1967, the U.S. Post Office released its annual Christmas stamp in first-day-of-issue ceremonies in Bethlehem, Georgia. The stamp's image is based on the painting by Hans Memling called "Madonna and Child with Angels," which hangs in the National Gallery of Art. The Post Office in Bethlehem is quite famous each Christmas because of it's name and the Biblical history of the Christ Child being born in Bethlehem.
